Almost Perfect Picnic

The only way to have a perfect day, is to spend that day with perfect people, doing perfect things. Best friends, delicious food, great conversation, funny jokes, etc, these are the ingredients to a perfect day.

And of course I love having these perfect days.

Yesterday, the one and only, Taylor Houston, joined me in the city for some girl time in the sun.  We went to Guerra's Meats an picked up some heavenly Prosciutto and some lovely Salami, we paired the meat with Spanish Manchego and fresh raspberries and blackberries. Before enjoying our mouthwatering lunch, Taylor and I ran to Haight to pick up a few things, and then decided on Hippie Hill to settle down for a snack.

This is where I made my mistake.

I always seem to forget that when you go to Hippie Hill, YOU ARE ALWAYS THE ONLY NORMAL PERSON THERE!!!! haha...

So what started as a simple lunch, with the occasional homeless gentleman asking for smokes, turned into serious HUSTLER drama. Lots of yelling between to various hustlers, who seemed to be related. This obviously was the glitch in our perfect day! Taylor and I decided that the situation was beyond the point of returning, and we retreated to my apartment to finish our yummy lunch.

Even if our Perfect Picnic was ruined by a couple of thugs, we still enjoyed an otherwise perfect day.

Later, we caught up with old friends, where else, but on my roof, and then laughed through 4 episodes of East Bound and Down.

Always a good time on T-Street and 21st.

It's Girl Power!!!

If there was ever a city that embraced the power of the individual, regardless of race, gender, sexual orientation, or religion, it was San Francisco.  This city celebrates each person for who they are, and there might even be a festival, or parade in celebration of YOU!

This last weekend, San Francisco celebrated Gay Pride, in a big way. What felt like everyone in this fabulous city rushed to the Castro to get in on the fun. This weekend, I realized possibly for the one thousandth time, that this city, is the city of love! And I am in LOVE with this city!!

My best friends were here to celebrate it with me. It was Whitney's last weekend here in SF before she officially moved back to SoCal. Lauren and Jenny came up Friday morning, and I have missed them so much. The three of us somehow ended up in the Haight.   And then Taylor came up Saturday and the real Pride party began! Running through the streets of San Francisco with the girls I love the most, it was AMAZING!!! There is something to be said about having a girls night where you laugh until you cry. It is an entirly different thing to have a girls night with 30,000 other people around you! Either way it was FANTASTIC!!!!

Now, Lauren and Jenny and Taylor and Whitney are gone, but my love for San Francisco is still growing.  Me and Kate are going to make sure that we love this city enough for all of them while they are away!

The winds are a changin' in these here parts of the Sunset... I can feel something new brewing just out at the beach and it is coming my way, and I am so excited!!!  What ever San Francisco has to dish out, I am ready to take on!!

I've got dreams to remember you...

What started as an amazing week, ended with an AMAZING weekend.

Bella and Taylor came back to the city on friday, because Bella left her debit card in my wallet from St. Patty's day. We planned on just a quick lunch, but of course, we had to make it an adventure. I took the girls up on the roof for a little bit of scenic relaxation before lunch, and then we set sale for Squatt and Gobble.
After staring at the insanely extensive menu for what felt like an hour, the girls decided on what they were going to grub on, wait for it... in Golden Gate Park. It was a beautiful day and we simply could not pass it up. We drove to the very spot that made me love the park so much just a few weeks ago and spread out a towel.

Words cannot describe how AMAZING it was to be in one of my favorite places with two of my favorite people, on such a beautiful day in San Francisco. The adventure did not end there. We pack up our things and began exploring the park on foot, it is quite a maze.

Eventually we made it back to the car and then we thought it would be nice to go to Candybar, that little desert bar that I wrote about before, needless to say the girls LOVED IT!!
!

After we were uncomfortably full, we went back to my house and then ran down to the beach to try and catch the sunset. We missed it, but it was still fun just sitting in the dunes with my best friends laughing till we were crying.

This was when the girls made their decision, THEY ARE GOING TO MOVE TO SF!!! I love that my passion for this city is infecting others. After a quick beach photo shoot, we floated to the land of drugs and bums, Haight and Ashbury, for a little bit of mischief.

After Haight, we returned to my house for some more best friend bonding on the roof, just looking at the lights of the city and listening to the sound of muni.

God, I love this city.

No night at TStreet and 21st would be complete without a little trip to the Shannon to visit my man Johnny, but the girls and I were soo tired, so after a few drinks, we cut
out early and went back to the house.

The night could not have been better. We conquered the city. Just the tree of us. I am sooo looking forward to more adventures in this amazing city with these girls!!

And ladies... Dirty Rich will ALWAYS ALWAYS do us dirty!!!!

Decade Number 3

So it happened... I am twenty! Last week was so much fun and all my friends made it one of the best birthdays I have ever had. Sunday night I went to the Shannon (Surprise Surprise) and hung out with all the crazy Spuds. Monday, I started school and began getting back into the swing of things academically.

Wednesday... the night before my BIG DAY I went to Mallory's for Wino Wednesday and began celebrating. At mid-night the entire house sang happy birthday to me and it was so sweet! I still cant believe that I am 20 years old, but all the more reason for me to run this town.

The birthday festivities continued all the way through the weekend, Friday night I went out to dinner with Kristen, Jessielyn and Erika at Panta Rei, (The best Italian restaurant in San Francisco) and then I was surprised by a bunch of friends back at the house, including Tashina.

I was sooooooo happy to see her, it was so cool that she drove up to San Francisco from Ventura for my birthday.

Saturday night I went to Seniore's with my mom, Erin, LeeAnn and Jessielyn. Always the fanciest of times. And then it was back to the Shannon for a birthday/wedding celebration for some of the regulars. We drank and danced and drank more until the bar was closed.

Essentially, the week was AMAZING... I wasn't okay with turning twenty, but now I know that this year is going to be one of the best I have had yet. Until Next time...
